Mixed-Media Painting in Amsterdam

This workshop will be held right in the centre of Amsterdam at the unique and popular studio, Atelier Molenpad, located in the canal belt near Leidseplein. Participants will be taught new and creative ways to use acrylic paints, including collage and various mediums and gels. Starting from construct drawing to final work, we learn how to mix colours, apply affective brushstrokes and build layers with paints, mediums and other items such as papers, fabric and found objects. You will learn about the various products available to create sustainable and unique artwork.

All paints and mediums will be provided. Participants are asked to bring brushes and canvas of their size choice, no larger than 20"x30" (16"x20" is ideal). Also, you may bring items for mixed media application such as: papers, fabrics, photo copied photos, found objects, lettering, memorabilia, etc. to add to their work if desired. And of course, bring your inspiration! Class is limited to 10 participants.

This course is suitable for all levels: beginers and experienced painters alike.

Sandra Iafrate has been instructing art workshops for over 20 years and is a GOLDEN Artist Eductator trained to teach the proper use of paints and mediums.

Directions from Amsterdam Central Station to Atelier Molenpad:

Tram 1, 2 of 5, exit tramstop Prinsengracht.Walk west, on the rightside of canal Prinsengracht.Continue for a block and a half. You wil cross over the Leidsegracht. Continue on Prinsengracht. The next block is Molenpad, on that corner you will see Molenpadd 17: a large, old school building. Ring the third buzzer. Walk upstairs to the second floor. Then cross the general waiting area. The Atelier is the yellow door on the far left.
