Sandra Iafrate is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice examines place, memory, and material as vessels of lived experience. Working primarily in painting and mixed media, she integrates traditional techniques with layered surfaces, incorporating found and vintage materials. Her accumulative processes explore temporality and identity through portraits, landscapes, still lifes, and immersive installations that evoke imagined histories and cultural narratives. Through layering and building these imagined memories, Iafrate brings complex and intrigue in the common person, place or thing.
